Beaker’s Back – My Mum Tracy Beaker

Beaker’s Back – My Mum Tracy Beaker

Ready for the best news you’re about to receive this week? The 31 year old actress Dani Harmer has announced that 15 years after the last series she is making a return as Tracy Beaker is set to return to the BBC next year!

In an interview with The Sun, Harmer confirmed that she would be returning to play the iconic character in a new show called My Mum Tracy Beaker, which is based on Jacqueline Wilson’s book of the same name. It will show us Tracy dealing with life as a single mum of 12-year old daughter Jess.

The official book synopsis says, “Jess thinks Tracy is the best mum ever, even when she shouts at her teachers! Yes, their flat’s a bit mouldy. It’s only just big enough for two. And the Duke Estate is a bit scary. But it’s their happy home. Until Sean Godfrey, Tracy’s rich boyfriend, whisks them away to his mansion, life of fast cars and celebrity stardom. Will Jess’s brilliant mum turn into a new person altogether?”

When asked about the return of Tracy, Dani said, “I can’t wait to return again to the role of Tracy. I’m a fan myself and want to know what happens next and where this journey takes her. Being a mother, I know how much it changes you. So I’m looking forward to seeing how it has changed Tracy but still keeping her the same feisty, strong female lead that people know and love.”

While Dani is excited to play a more grown up Tracy, she went on to say we will still be seeing her usual sassy traits, and we couldn’t be happier to hear. After all, it wouldn’t be Tracy Beaker without hearing “moron”, “bog off” , “porridge brain” or any other random insult. It’s not yet known whether any of the old cast will be making an appearance in the new series but either way we’re sure it’ll be just as addictive!

On a scale of 1 to 10 how excited are you? Let us know in the comments!

National No Dirty Dishes Day: UK’s Favourite Takeaway Choices

Let’s be honest, the best part of the takeaway experience is when you’re done eating a painfully large amount of food, unable to move, feeling both remorseful but also a little bit proud, and then realising there’s no washing up to be done; the chow mein pots can simply be given to the dog to lick clean and then recycled appropriately. This means you can remain seated on the couch, nursing your bloated stomach until you fall asleep and then wake up for the leftovers. For this reason, we are giving a run-down of the UK’s favourite Takeaway Choices, as voted for by the public, in honour of National No Dirty Dishes Day.
