Meet The Team – Q&A With Oliver

Meet The Team – Q&A With Oliver

Ever wondered what SOAP would be like working from the inside? We decided to ask Oliver 10 questions about his time with us working at SOAP to give you a further insight into all the fun we get up to.

Is working for SOAP what you expected it to be like?

Absolutely not. Every event is totally different! One week you are giving away inflatables and the next it’s take away. One week I could be throwing paint powder in a crowd at a paint party and the next I’m dancing onstage dressed like something from a circus. It keeps the job exciting and enjoyable.

What has been your favourite theme to work?

My absolute favourite theme has to be the SOAP Scare Maze. Halloween is my favourite holiday so creating and working in a scare maze is so much fun.

Describe the funniest moment you’ve witnessed at work.

There are so many funny memories as our events are never predictable! A personal favourite was when we raided Area 51 and the whole club had their own little alien baby with them on the dance floor!

What is the perfect night out to you?

A perfect night out for me is being welcomed to an event and  being made to feel special, with great music and great company.

What is your favourite memory with us?

Favourite memory has to be giving out Chinese takeaway to people and watching people munching on fried rice on a dance floor. I also absolutely loved working with Dani Harmer (Tracy Beaker). It was such a fun night, we had stage games and a twerk competition.

What three words would you use to describe SOAP?

Surprising, different and bizarre.

Do you enjoy working for us?

Oh 100%! The fact that every event is different, you never have the same night, different encounters, experiences, you meet loads of new people, create friendships and it’s just totally different to what is seen as normal. It’s more like a night out than a job.

If you could change 1 thing about SOAP what would it be?

I don’t think I would want to change anything – if something is not broken then it doesn’t need fixing.

Is there anything you want to say to anyone reading this?

If you come to a soap night expect the unexpected.

National No Dirty Dishes Day: UK’s Favourite Takeaway Choices

Let’s be honest, the best part of the takeaway experience is when you’re done eating a painfully large amount of food, unable to move, feeling both remorseful but also a little bit proud, and then realising there’s no washing up to be done; the chow mein pots can simply be given to the dog to lick clean and then recycled appropriately. This means you can remain seated on the couch, nursing your bloated stomach until you fall asleep and then wake up for the leftovers. For this reason, we are giving a run-down of the UK’s favourite Takeaway Choices, as voted for by the public, in honour of National No Dirty Dishes Day.
