Strictly Come Dancing 2020: Who and What’s New!
In light of the pandemic, to fit the guidelines set in place, Strictly Come Dancing are having to make a few adjustments for this year’s series. In order for the stars to compete they have all been asked to self isolate beforehand ensuring everything can be carried out safely.
So what changes have been made, we hear you ask? This week we’re giving you all the goss when it comes to Strictly, we even have a list of the rumoured celebrity line up!
Live Audience = No go
According to recent news, the celebrity and their professional dance partners will be rehearsing in an almost empty studio which will be a first for the show. Cutbacks are having to be made to reach the social distancing guidelines which means we say goodbye to a live audience. The absence of the audience has created a worry that the lack of atmosphere will take away the excitement from any future performances.
Live Pop Star Performances Cancelled
The Strictly Come Dancing dance floor has been the stage for huge pop sensations such as Taylor Swift and Lewis Capaldi so it is seen to play a huge factor in the show. It is said to be under discussion as to whether or not the performances should be scrapped.
Running Time Reduced
Usually the Strictly series runs from September to December but this year the dates have changed. You can expect it to kick off on the 24th of October and will be shorter than normal by finishing a few weeks earlier.
Smaller Line-Up
As the running time of the series is being reduced there is no longer need for a huge amount of competitors so the line-up has been reduced.
No Group Performances
Group dances have become a weekly thing on Strictly, kicking off the show! 2020 is seeing the cancellation of these and also of the ‘chemistry circle’ which is used to pair the professional dancers with their celebrity partners.
Backstage crew
Due to the lack of audience, the front of house crew members won’t be necessary. There will also be less security due to the lack of audience.
So who’s taking part this year? Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague, comedian Alan Carr and TV presenter Maya Jama are just a few of the names under discussion for the 2020 line-up. We have the full rumoured list for you below!
Molly-Mae Hague
Maya Jama
Amber Gill
Michelle Keegan
Alan Carr
Jamie Laing
Huw Edwards
Strictly bosses have had to make a number of changes this year in order to make sure everything is being carried out safely so we’re looking at a very different show!

National No Dirty Dishes Day: UK’s Favourite Takeaway Choices
Let’s be honest, the best part of the takeaway experience is when you’re done eating a painfully large amount of food, unable to move, feeling both remorseful but also a little bit proud, and then realising there’s no washing up to be done; the chow mein pots can simply be given to the dog to lick clean and then recycled appropriately. This means you can remain seated on the couch, nursing your bloated stomach until you fall asleep and then wake up for the leftovers. For this reason, we are giving a run-down of the UK’s favourite Takeaway Choices, as voted for by the public, in honour of National No Dirty Dishes Day.
