The sum that he was paid is probably not near the amount he now gets paid when starring in a film. This sum is the highest amount that an actor has ever been paid when being in their fist ever starring role. The film was ripped apart when it came to reviews though but it was a big stepping stone for The Rock to take in order to get his acting career going.

6. He holds a record for most selfies taken in 3 minutes. Yes, what a record this one is. During 3 minutes at a red carpet premiere of San Andreas, he managed to get 105 selfies! A Guinness World Record adjudicator was present at the event and several of the selfies were disqualified because they were blurry or they were not fully viewable from the neck upwards. The most electrifying man in sports entertainment certainly took this record to a new level in such a crowded and busy situation!

8. His Grandmother was a very strong willed businesswoman! We think this could be the reason why The Rock is so good at what he does. Everybody in his family were strong willed and focused on getting what they want from life. Clearly his Grandmother had rubbed off on his dad and the rest of the family. The generations of the Johnson’s before Dwayne clearly had that ethic and it was only a matter of time before the world knew of it.

9. Vince Mcmahon had owned the name The Rock originally. Dwayne did not own the name when he first was called this in the WWF. He still went on and made it his own though as not many people will know this and simply associate the name with Dwayne Johnson! In his movies Vince got executive producer credit because of him having the ownership of the name. This being said though he did go on to eventually own the name.

10. He has a book that is called The Rock Says. In the year 2000 he published the autobiography that he and Joe Layden had wrote and this book stayed at the top of The New York Times Best Seller for weeks.
